EGYPT. Alexandria. Tranquillina, Augusta, 241-244. Tetradrachm (Bronze, 23 mm, 11.08 g, 11 h), RY 7 of Gordian III = 243/4. CΑΒ ΤΡΑΝΚΥΛΛЄΙΝΑ CЄΒ Diademed and draped bust of Tranquillina to right. Rev. L Ζ Bust of Nilus to right, crowned with taenia and lotus-buds and with slight drapery on his left shoulder; to right, cornucopiae. Dattari (Savio) -. Emmett -. K&G -. Extremely rare and apparently unpublished for this regnal year. A wonderful piece with a beautiful portrait. Extremely fine.
